The Football Alumni of Michigan (FAM) is the official home for those who have worn the winged helmet and those who supported the team throughout our storied history as the winningest football program in the country. FAM is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that engages, inspires, and unites our past, present, and future Michigan football alumni to be the leaders and best.
We do this through providing health care, legal, career, and financial assistance to our teammates in need and creating opportunities for our members to network with our community of over 600 members across the globe and counting.

General Questions

What is the purpose of the FAM organization?

FAM is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the purpose of helping our members with financial, legal, health and career challenges though our Teammate Assistance Program (TAP). FAM raises money for TAP though membership dues, donations, fundraisers, and corporate sponsors. We use the money to financial support members in need, pay for support services and programs that directly benefit our members. If you or a teammate you know needs some help, please contact us immediately. Our TAP Committee and network of volunteers will act fast to assist in resolving the problem.

How do I order a replacement M-Ring or championship ring?

Membership Questions

Who is eligible to be a member of FAM?

To be a member you must have been on the football team for a minimum of one year as a player, coach, or direct support staff.

I was a walk-on for just one year. Can I be a member of FAM?

Yes, as long as you were a part of the team for a minimum of one year you can be a member of FAM.

I am a widow of a former player, manager, trainer or support staff, can I be a member of FAM?

Yes, you can be a member of FAM.

If I want to be a member for FAM, but do not have money for membership dues, can I still be a member?

Yes, other members paid for extra memberships so everyone can be a member. Just reply to one of the emails and request a scholarship.

Football Ticket Questions

Do former football players, coaches, trainers and managers have early access to 2024 football home games?

Yes, the Michigan Ticket Office will be sending an email to former players and coaches in their database on Wednesday June 5th. FAM will also send an email to those in our database in order to reach as many former players, coaches’ trainers and managers as possible.

Do former football players, coaches, trainers and managers receive any discounts to football home games?

All former Michigan football players, coaches, trainers and managers (football alumni) are eligible to request up to two (2) tickets (one complimentary, one paid) to two (2) different home games each year. These tickets should only be used by football alumni family and friends. DO NOT RESELL THE TICKETS. If the Ticket Office discovers the tickets have been resold you may lose your privilege to purchase tickets in the future. The deadline to order is Friday, the week prior to the game you are requesting tickets. Tickets are subject to availability and demand is high so do not wait.

What are the premium and non-premium games for 2024 season?

For the 2024 season the “Premium” high demand games will be Texas, USC MSU and Oregon. The “Non Premium” games will be Fresno State, Arkansas State, Minnesota and Northwestern.

Can I purchase tickets for other games I did not select as my two games?

Football alumni looking to purchase additional tickets for other Premium games not selected as your Complimentary games and Non-Premium games” will have the opportunity to do so on the first day of the donor pre-sale, along with Michigan Athletics’ highest level donors. An email communication with date and instructions will be sent through the Ticket Office and FAM.

Can I purchase additional tickets for games I selected as my complimentary games?

For “premium games” all football alumni will be limited to 2 tickets (1 complimentary, 1 paid).

Additional tickets can be requested for “non-premium” games, subject to availability. Additional tickets can be requested by contacting the Michigan Ticket Office at 734-764-0247

When is the Chili Cornbread Reunion game?

The Chili Cornbread Reunion game will be Saturday, October 26 vs. Michigan State. Game time TBD.

If I use my complimentary tickets for games other than MSU, do I still get a complimentary ticket to the MSU Chili Cornbread Reunion game?

No. You can have one complementary game ticket to two different games. It’s your choice which games. You will still be offered a ticket to the MSU game but at face value.

If I am a widow of a former player, do I qualify for complimentary game tickets?

Unfortunately, no. The complimentary ticket benefit is exclusive to former players, coaches, trainers and managers and is not passed on to family members.

What section in the stadium are the former player tickets?

Generally, section 25: however, if demand is high, they may be located in other sections.

Do former players get early access to bowl game tickets?

Yes. The Michigan Athletic Department will provide former players, coaches, trainers and managers with early access to bowl game tickets when the Wolverines secure a spot. All tickets will be at face value. The Athletic Department and FAM will circulate an email containing all the necessary details.

Tailgate Questions

Do you have to be a member of FAM to register for the tailgate?

Yes, you must be a member of FAM to register and attend the pregame tailgates.

If I am a FAM member, what is the cost to attend the tailgate?

As a member of FAM, you and your guests can attend the tailgate for free. If you have more than two adults attending the tailgate FAM suggests a $10 donation for each additional adult in attendance.

Where is the FAM outdoor tailgate located?

The FAM outdoor tailgate is located on the northeast side of the stadium. Look for the big blue tent with a Block M.

Where is the FAM indoor tailgate?

The FAM indoor tailgate is located inside Crisler Center. Use the northeast entrance. At the top of the escalator to the left is the Weiser Family Club.

What is the difference between the FAM indoor and outdoor tailgate?

The indoor tailgate will have food service provided by Sodexo, no alcohol and a much more relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating. The outdoor tailgate will feature food provided by generous partners. We will have an open bar with bartenders, music, and TVs. There is less seating but more of a party atmosphere.

Do I have to pre-register for both tailgates?

Registration for the tailgates allows FAM to better plan how many people will be attending and provide a faster check in process. If you plan to attend both tailgates, please register for both.

What is the Chili and Cornbread tailgate?

Each year the Michigan Athletic Department sponsors one tailgate. In even years it will be the Michigan State game and in odd years it will be the Ohio State game. For these designated games, the athletic department provides one pregame field pass for each former player to be on the field when the team runs out of the tunnel. No guests will be allowed on the field.
